Some of our work has entailed sites so large or so closely dependent on adjacent large parcels that we have worked with urban planning principles in mind, while developing a better understanding of traffic, large scale utilities, long range views and the relationship of a given site to the larger urban environment.
SOUTH INTERBAY URBAN DESIGN MASTER PLAN • SEATTLE, WA
The firm has deep expertise on the Interbay area, primarily assessment for private development, but extending well beyond compensated efforts to include articles written for professional journals, board membership on transportation study teams, collaboration with other offices to complement their efforts with various projects in this area and consultation with community groups, land-owners, the Port of Seattle, and city officials with an aim to improve the urban environment of Seattle.
This valuable data has helped site two projects for a private developer, but has also been shared with all of the groups that will be affected by decisions in the Interbay corridor.
IROQUOIS POINT ISLAND CLUB • OAHU, HI
A 400+ acre/1500 unit former Navy housing development at the entrance to Pearl Harbor. Design included a pre-school, marina, sports fields, lagoon improvements and beach access paths in addition to selected improvements to the existing townhomes, apartments and single family homes. Selected elements were prefabricated in Bali and shipped to Hawaii.
